HIS MAJESTY KING BHUMIBOL ADULYADEJ of Thailand was born in Cambridge Massachusetts USA on Monday the 5th of December 1927, being the third and youngest child of Their Royal Highnesses Prince and Princess Mahidol of Songkhla. He is known as Rama IX and the direct grandson of His Late Majesty King Chulalongkorn or Rama V who was renowned for the great reforms.
HM Bhumibol was crowned King of Thailand on 5 May 1950 at the Royal Palace in Bangkok where he pledged that he would "reign with righteousness for the benefit and happiness of the Siamese people"

longest-reigning monarch in Thai history.






The Eight Precepts

八關齋戒
Thus have I heard:
                                
At one time the Blessed One was residing in Jetavana, the monastery of Anathapindika, near Savatthi. At that time the Blessed One, having called all the bhikkhus together, addressed them thus: "Bhikkhus!". The bhikkhus answered in assent: "Lord!". The Blessed One then gave the following teaching on Uposatha.

1. Panatipata veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from destroying living creatures.

2. Adinnadana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from taking that which is not given.

3. Abrahmacariya veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from sexual activity.

4. Musavada veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from incorrect speech.

5. Suramerayamajja pamadatthana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from intoxicating drinks and drugs which lead to carelessness.

6. Vikalabhojana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from eating at the forbidden time (i.e., after noon).

7. Nacca-gita-vadita-visukkadassana mala-gandha-vilepana-dharana-mandana-vibhusanathana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from dancing, singing, music, going to see entertainments, wearing garlands, using perfumes, and beautifying the body with cosmetics.

8. Uccasayana-mahasayana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from lying on a high or luxurious sleeping place.

LP Goy, Wat Khao Din Tai, Buriram Province

LP Goy is the abbot of Wat Khao Din Tai. He is very famous for making Gumanthong and Phra Khun Paen. At the age of 20 LP Goy was ordained as a monk. He relocated to Cambodia to study wicha magic from LP Su Wern to create sacred amulets including Phra Khun Paen. He then moved to Seam Reap, an ancient Cambodian town to learn the esoteric magic of making Gumanthong from the ascetics in the jungles. LP Goy returned to Thailand and stayed in Wat Khao Din Tai.


LP Tim, Wat Lahanrai

LP Tim was born on 16th June BE 2422 in Ban Hua Tunnttabuon, Tambon Laharn, Ampher Bannkaii, Jungwat Rayong. On the 7th June BE 2499 LP Tim was ordained as a monk at Wat Thatkaow. He was ordained by Phrakru Kaow, Ajarn Singh and Ajarn Keh. After spending a year in Wat Thatkaow, he retreated in the forest for a period of three years. LP Tim then went to Wat Narmathom in Chengwat Chonburi for two years. Luang Pu Tim studied wicha magic from Ajarn Lod, Ajarn Saii and Ajarn Lem. He also studied from his Uncle Luang Phor Song Thao of Wat Kongchin. It was from this uncle that Luang Pu Tim inherited a book of Wicha and Arkom. Luang Pu Tim became the Abbot of Wat Lahanrai where he was a strict and diligent practioner of the Dhamma.He was known to be a very good monk and has few possessions. In the hut where he stayed, he only had a pillow and a mat with no electricity. He lived a very simple life. He passed away on the 18th October BE 2518 having spent 72 years in the Sangha. LP Tim is very famous for making Phra Kring ChinaBunchorn, Phra Khun Paen Guman Plaai, Phra Pidta.














LP Hong, Wat Petchaburi, Surin Province

LP Hong is the abbot of Wat Petchaburi and is very famous in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand. He was born on 23rd March 1918 in Tungmon village, Prasart District, Surin Province. He was ordained as a monk at the age of 20 at Wat Petchaburi. LP Hong learned the Dharma and magic wicha from many masters. Seven years after his ordination, he travelled to Cambodia to practice meditation. His amulets are very effective and powerful.
